| This is my attempt with some help from others to try to
help beginners establish a workable city within the first 7 days of
beginner protection. I am by no means an expert and I will welcome both criticism and assistance to improve what I am writing here. Evony is a free game and can be played that way. For myself personally I find it absolutely necessary to spend that initial $5.00 and then the $30.00 beginners offer. One very big advantage of these two purchases is that you get enough medals to go immediately to the rank of captain and the title of Baronet. This gives 3 city slots which is very important if you want to develop quickly. If you look around you it is obvious who has spent t his money and who has not. The fields are littered with the non spenders and the vast majority of these simply become extra farms for the stronger farmers. As soon as I am off beginners I will start to use these cities as a source of resources until I am strong enough to attack low level npc cities. It really is a case of spend or die. I have found from past experience that it is necessary to spend the $5 and the $30 as well as an extra $30. The amount you spend after this is entirely up to you. |
| The initial 7 days of building is usually fairly slow and the lack of resources is a constant headache and very frustrating. Even with 2 cities producing just iron and lumber there is never enough for all the building, troop production, wall defenses and that very gold hungry research. I started a third city wit just farm, quarries, and 18 cottages to address some of these shortages. I will abandon this city once my building is completed so I am keeping building in here to a minimum. |
| The only way to get anywhere is to read and understand what is in the Quest and to follow this as closely as possible. There are many way of doing this so if you are in doubt ask other players. In beginner chat most are beginners just like yourself so the information is often very poor. It is worth the time to find a good alliance and join that as soon as possible. Look around you and see what alliances are in you r area and try to loin the biggest. If you cannot get into that one they will have sister alliances for lower prestige players. |
| To start building put in 1 cottage to level 2 and get the
quest from that Apply newbies package and get the guidelines from that Upgrade town hall to level 2 Build 1 farm, sawmill, quarry and iron mine Build you embassy then take the forge and workshop to the level required to upgrade the walls You can purchase 1 amulet and spin all three and hope to win resources or you can purchase resources as required with these 15 coins. Do the correspondence by writing to another player any one will do Join an alliance Talk in beginners chat and alliance chat for extra quest results Take your walls to level 1 Build a warehouse and do the research then demolish the warehouse If you do not have enough lumber and other resource to upgrade you town hall to level 3 then build a marketplace and trade excess resources for those that you are short of with this upgrade you can apply the Package of Lords you collect from the quest and you will have 3.4 to 4.5k prestige This is not the only way to go about building on your first day so investigate what you want to do and try to plan ahead. In this first day I also build an Inn and a Feasting hall so that I can purchase a hero with a good level of politics to speed up building. Also include a rally point and 1 barracks. Everything you build at this stage works toward the quest and earns extra resources and prestige. Without spending the initial amount I doubt that you will get further than this on your first day and you will also be wondering if it is all worth the effort. By the end of day 1 I had a prestige of 10,321 and I was a Captain with title of Baronet which allowed me to have 3 cities. A listing of my results for day 1 and some other days can be accessed from the home page menu. |
