| Here is a listing of my building for the first day of a
new account. The biggest problem is always a shortage of resources. If you
follow what I have done here you should end your day without stopping
while you wait for more resources. What I have written here is basically a
way to follow the quest in the best way that I have found if you know of
more efficient ways then I would be very happy to hear from you. |
| As you work remember to check the Quest and collect al
rewards as they are due. The quest will give you the majority of resources
that you need to get all your buildings started so it is very important to
follow it in a regular order. Read each of the quest items to see what
resources you can collect. The more you know about this area the better
your results will be. NOTE: NEVER USE THE RIGHT
MOUSE BUTTON IN EVONY OR YOU WILL LOCK UP YOUR COMPUTER. Sorry to
shout but it is a pain in the neck when this happens. Use Ctrl + C to copy
and Ctrl V to Paste. |
- Open the newbies package this is found in the "Chest" in "My Items"
top right of screen.
- Check email and read the offers with the $30.000 beginners package
and the $5.00 for 250 coin worth of goodies. It is not essential to
purchase these but everything will be a lot faster for you if you do.
- Build 2 X cottages to level 2.
- Build 1 X farm, quarry, sawmill and iron mine to level 2
If you just ran out of lumber no problems check the quest it is flashing
so collect the resources you need to continue.
- Open "My Items" again and in the "chest" you have 2 amulets. apply
both of these to collect the quest rewards. If you are lucky you may
even get some resources.
- Go to the Town Hall and adjust the production rate to 10% on all
resources the collect quest rewards for this.
- Back to the town hall and adjust tax rate to 20%. Collect quest
rewards.
- Back to the town hall and rename city.
- Top right of screen click on the face under server time then change
flag name.
- Build Inn, Rally Spot, Feasting Hall and Barracks. Collect all the
quest rewards for this.
- Go to the Inn and purchase a hero. If you are lucky it will be a
good one (see the section on selecting a good hero) You want one with
good politics at this stage as that decreases construction time and
increases the production of resources. the first for me is only pol 17
so I will purchase and the dismiss in the feasting hall. Back to the inn
and there is one with with pol of 43 not good but it will do so i will
purchase that one. Now go to the feasting hall and appoint this here as
mayor. A few quest rewards now so collect them.
- Now for a bit of work on the hero. Back to the feasting hall and
click "view" beside the hero. Click n the green cross at top right of
this panel and apply "Anabasis" (you got one from your beginners
package).
Below this cross "Upgrade is now highlighted. Click on this until it is
no longer highlighted then click on the cross beside Politics and
upgrade this attribute. Click save and collect the quest rewards. Now go
to the inn and click on refresh to apply Hero Hunting and collect more
quest rewards.
- Upgrade Town Hall to level 2. Use speed up beginners guide lines and
cut 15 mins off the time.
- Click on any player in the chat window and select write. Write an
email and send. Tell them you are just completing the quest.
- Build a market place and use beginner guidelines to speed up. Open
the market and press sell. Sell any small amount of resource say 1k of
food. Press return and then buy resources pick the cheapest usually
stone and buy a small amount anything will do. Collect quest rewards.
- Build your academy and embassy
- Time to build up the walls. Start by upgrading iron mine to level 3,
then forge to level 2, and then workshop to level 1. Now click on the
walls and upgrade them.
I needed more resources before I could build the walls so I built 3 more
level 2 cottages. This took me to a population limit over 1000 which
gave me enough resources from the quest to build the walls.
- Start now with consolation. Only one every 15 mins can be done so
remember to come back to complete it. Town Hall - comforting- disaster
relief, praying, blessing, population raising. Get them all done for the
quest. A hint here praying will raise your prestige so if you have the
gold you can do this every 15mins after finishing the quest to get
higher faster. The more population you have the bigger the rise.
- Now I want to take the Town hall to level 3 but I am 2000 short of
lumber. On new servers where resources are cheap I could just go to the
market and purchase some. On this server 1 lumber is 5 gold on other
older servers it is as much as 1 lumber to 700 gold. I am going to
conserve my gold for now. In the bottom right of the screen you will see
"Get More Resources" click on that and look at what is available. I can
purchase 8000 lumber for 1 coin so I will. If there is not enough in
there you will need to go to the market and use some gold. Use merchant
fleet to get the resources immediately or wait the half hour for
delivery.
Use primary guide Lines to finish the town hall.
- In the Chest in My Items open the Package for Lords. There is now a
junior medal box there also. Open it.
Again collect all the quest rewards and you should have a bit over 130k
in gold with a Rank of Lieutenant and the Title of Knight with a
prestige a bit over 4560 and a good supply of resources.
- Your food production should be getting a bit low now so build your
farm to level 5. This allows you to build your stable. Build the stable.
- Time to start the long laborious task of research in the academy. Go
to the academy and you will see 3 items that you can start. Agriculture,
Lumbering, and Military Science. any one will do to start. Just remember
to keep these going at all times as it take weeks to get them all done.
- Purchase Item is showing in the Quest now so go to the Shop and
purchase an item anything will do. I purchased a Merchant Fleet in case
I needed resources from the market in a hurry.
- Build Beacon Tower and Warehouse.
Now it is time to plan your city and what you will require for the
future. You can see what I have built in the pictures at the end of this
piece. The more resource fields you build the more cottages you need for
all the workers. 10 cottages will always be enough for a full resource
field placing so do not build more. This is a game of war so you need to
have troops. The more barracks you build the more troops you can train
in a faster time.
- Build the rest of your cottages to level 2
- Build the resource fields you have planned. later in the game you
will need a lot of lumber and iron so build mostly these and purchase
food from the market. If you build farms and quarries you will only need
to demolish them later.
- Town Hall to level 4.
- 2 X Barracks to level 2 and make a few scouts. check the box Split
production to all barracks.
- Once scouts are ready scout a valley. You only need 1 scout for
valleys flats and npc cities.
- Check what research and building levels you need to train Pikeman
and fox that then train some of those as well as warriors and workers.
- Once you have enough troops to attack a level 1 flat do this and
once it is captured build a city on it.
- From here just keep upgrading and upgrading upgrading and upgrading.
Remember to finish your comforting and also do the levy for the quest
that is also in the Town hall. Keep building troops and as your research
and building reach the correct levels you will be able to train
swordsmen and archers.
At no time during this first day did I have have to wait for resources
before upgrading a building or doing research. If you are careful to
follow the quest you will have just as good results as I have had.
Another part to start now also are your wall defences. Click on the wall
and then select what you want to build start with just 10 of each. You
will also see that you need some research for these so do that also.
At this stage look around the map for an alliance to join. Once you find
one you like the look of go to the alliance section and click on "Alliance
List". Type in the alliance name and click "Name" this will give you
information on the alliance. If they have less than 60 members look for
another one. Your strength will be tied very much to the strength of you
alliance so if you join some obscure weak alliance that is how you will
be. There are enough cities around that just become farms for other
players without adding yours to the list.
Once you have found a suitable alliance click on view and select apply.
Now all you need to do is get accepted. If you are not accepted in a
reasonable time then they are a slack alliance and they will be just as
slow getting help to you when you need it. Look for another alliance.
The greater the number of members in the alliance that you join the
more gold you get.
One more task before I finish off my first day. I am going to purchase the
$30 beginners 7 day package and the $5 for 250 coins worth of goodies
package. If you don/t purchase the 7 day beginners package in the first 7
days then you miss out. You do not need to spend any money to operate this
game it is just that these 2 packages give you a real head start over
others. I am now a baronet which allows me to have 3 cities. I will only
build one extra city. Throughout the game always keep 1 city slot spare so
that you can build npc cities for your future resource requirements. This
is very important and something that you should start as soon as you have
the troops to conquer the flats. In the future you main requirement will
be level 5 npc cities for food an other resources so concentrate mainly on
these but build a couple each of level 2, 3, and 4 for use until you get
enough ballista for level 5. Develop the habit of producing at least 3 npc
cities per day and you will set your future. |
The pictures below are the results of my first day. You
will see that I have gone a bit further than I have talked about above but
I am not trying to hold your hand just give you a bit of a helping hand.
With research I have reached levels of: agriculture 1, lumbering 2,
masonry 1, mining 2, metal casting 1, informatics 5, military science 4,
military tradition 1, iron working 2 |
| All the best with your efforts and I hope you enjoy evony
in the future as much as I do. It is a great game but remember it is a
game of war and if you don't want war then go to facebook and build a farm
there. There is a lot to learn and I will try too add a lot more to help
you shorten your journey. |
